Can't manage/create areas

Ok, I have everything up and running, but I can't seem to create/manage areas through the CP.

In the CP it basically looks like:

0     Off Topic    -
1         Test Forum    -
1         Test Forum 3
0     On Topic    -
1         Test Forum 2

And on my front page I only see:

Off Topic
 Test Forum

Am I missing something??  Did I forget to change some rights somewhere?
.

Ha. That sounds like the dreaded php5 issue we were seeing in 0.4.6.
Is it 0.4.7? Because it should be fixed.
If it is, go to the admin CP and ask it to clear all its caches.

cleared the cache...same issue....

Version Check

You are not running C!D SE's latest version!
Your version is nightly; latest released version is 0.4.7.

just realized my host is running php version 4.4.4.....could that be it?

No that should be ok.
If you wish, you can pm me a link to your board, with an admin account, and I will take a look.

My experience with this problem is that I hadn't set any access control for the areas.

Go to the Admin CP, Manage Areas, and then click on the lock symbol for one of the areas which doesn't display.  In my case, there were no boxes checked.

Also look at the access settings for one of the areas which does display.  Note that the access settings are different for a top level area than for a subordinate level area.

Commifreak: first of all sorry for being so often away from my AIM. I leave it open as much as I can but I always get dragged and meetings...

Also, 'clicdev se' is the codename for pre-version 1.0 'nextBBS' releases.

sudleyplace: well done; I cannot believe that I didn't think of that!
