you can enable short tags in two ways.

easier
1. left click on the WAMP logo, find PHP, and then find PHP settings, and enable short codes from there.

the harder method, need to find the option in the codes
2. left click on the WAMP logo, find PHP, and then find php.ini, and you can enable the short tags in one of the options in there.

so i guess you should revert back to the unmodified version and try again. =p


Oh ps.
i was mucking around with a few other software/cms, and noticed that some of them do use MYISAM, while others uses InnoDB.
So i was just thinking, they obviously done something to automatically set the table type, maybe you can look into this method.
I'll have to get back to you on which softwares does this, its on the work's computer.
