Hey I'm new to this and having a few issues I could use some help with.

1. when clicking on member's names I get the following error:

: Smarty error: [in profile.tpl line 56]: syntax error: (secure mode) 'null' not allowed in if statement (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1354) in /home/content/t/h/e/theisland41/html/forums0/smarty/Smarty.class.php (1083)
 

2.  Clickable Smilies  won't display in posts even though I have set them up in the admin CP.

3. I have one member who can't chat....do any of you have any ideas on why just one member would not be able to chat? She's using IE.

 Hola Funkman,,,I have problems from time to time with the clickable smilies both the ones that came with the program and ones that I uploaded and mangaged in the AdminCP.  I would like to know the solution too.  sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.  Right now they don't...when i try to insert one, there is a "broken image" icon that shows up, then nothing in the post itself.

Ok, Ive fixed the smilies, but still have the other two issues. The main one for me is not being able to see a members profile. Here is the error I get.
Error type: E_USER_ERROR

in the control panel under board setting the boards full URL was incomplete. make sure that if you have the forum in a sub directory you adjust this to your site

Gracias, on mine, removed  "index.php"  from my URL  description and now the smilies work?!?  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The error is specifically in profile.tpl

{if $data.games!=false}
...
{/if}

$data.games, I imagine is NULL. Removing this block of code has no effect. We don't know how to reprocess the TPL to get the smarty stuff to look at the change. The error also mentions something about security mode. How can we change that? We also created a bogus game and score - hoping to create non-null data. That was a red-herring!

Any advice would be appreciated.
