Why would it make more sense? Because it's more popular?
I rather code hacks that are going to make mine and others administrating experience easier.
If you want to code a points system go ahead, it's not that hard. The hard part is the shop.
I am not thrilled by the point system like I was so I really don't care to code it unless I don't have any other projects lined up.
 
Another reason why I'm coding the types of hacks I code is because they may get coded into the board.
I rather be remembered for being the person who helped nBBS grow, not for a couple cool hacks.

Let's hang on to Harmor, it's not everyday that you find people who walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

Actually there are two ways to looking at the issue.
On the one hand, it's obvious that adding core features is really what both you and I -and someone else in the past, who fell of the face of the earth- care for.

On the other hand, a store is more like a "marketting" issue. It would really mean many more people installing NBBS for *that* feature.
Actually I would envision the store as an extension, not a hack.
