Creating a new forum

I am trying to create a new forum. I have an existing one setup using phpbb, but I was interested in some of the fetures in Nextbbs.

I create a new area, but it never appears in the list. All I can see is the "Default Category"and "Test Forum".

Is something locked or not enabled?

any help getting off the ground would be appreciated.

BTW a getting started guide would be wonderful!

Hello,

I guess you've installed the forum with succes...

You have to go to AdminCP --> Forums, Portal --> Manage Areas
There you click on New
You get the next screen:

At name and description you can write what you've want, then click on apply.
You'll get this:

Iff you take a look at the forum, nothing changed yet...

Now click back on new, and select the area you've created before in "Parent", and fill in name and description below.

Click apply...

Iff you take a look at the forum, still nothing changed...

Click on the lock behind your new forum details in AdminCP --> Forums, Portal --> Manage Areas

Select who can see/change what... and apply

Then go back on the Board Home, and you'll see your new area/forum

Hope you can do something with this

Greetz...

thank you!

I would never have guessed that is how to make things visable.

I have been able to add an example and now I think I can create the different areas just fine.

Nice guide!

However, cyber's post is telling me that we are not following the 'workflow-oriented' approach that I would like for nextBBS. We need to improve this!
