How to setup notifications

Hi,

I am a newbie to the forums. I have installed this and working fine. But I am not getting any mail notification. Can some take me to the right path ? How to set the SMTP server or jabber server. What are exact options available ? I just installed and tried for the notifications but it didn't work. After that used SMTP server on my system itself but in vain.I have sendmail installed on my linux system and is running fine. I tried telnet on port 25 and its running. I dont know what should I do ? please help

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, there was a problem with our database.

Has this problem been solved? Let me know.

No chris, Even I was surprised to see the site in such a state. I am still trying and waiting for some response...
can you send me some instructions or doc how to setup notification.
Default SMTP server 72.36.171.210 is also working on 25 port and even I tried my own server in my forum server itself.
But none of these seems working.. how to debug or resolve the issue ?
Thanks in advance

Hola,

I had the problem for password recovery e-mails not being received.  So I changed the settings to PHP instead of SMTP and that worked for me.  Remember to include whatever e-mail address you want to appear as "sent from".

How would I go about changing the default message for lost password?

Change the language file in "servers/1/lang/eng/". It's the file signup.php

Greetz.

You can do it if you really want it... - - - see my testforum (0.5.3)
