My first Perl script, w00t

Yeah, I know it's not much, but it's my first time trying out Perl :p

Though I'll probably never use it again, I prefer PHP, it's still good to expand your knowledge of different languages

perl Code:
  1. #!/usr/bin/perl
  2.
  3. print "Content-Type: text/html ";
  4. print "<html><head><title>My First PERL Script</title></head>";
  5. print "<body>";
  6. print "<h1>My First PERL Script</h1>";
  7. print "</body></html>";

Edit: Chris, it's good and all that the "code" BBCode has so many variations, but now if you just have [code] by itself without adding keyword, it doesn't do anything (that's why I had to use "quote" above). Maybe you can fix that?

LOL @ harmor

Not to mention, Jasper, that you could have selected 'code=perl'

I prefer using the BBCode extension for Firefox than clicking on putters and/or typing it by hand....

By the way, I just edited the other post with 'code=perl' and it turns the \n\n into two actual line breaks, so you can't correctly see exactly what was added and just have to assume "two line breaks in code = two \n\n"

***

But.... that was just a sidenote I had, not really the main toipic :D Main topic is I figured out how to make Perl work.... sorta :p

It's similar to PHP in the sense that it's a server-side language, but it's a pain in the butt to script.

PHP is easier
